Hello !! My name is Naraindyal (nuh-rain-dee-yall), and I’m so excited you’ve come to check out Lydia’s Brain !!
Since I was young, the importance and the effect that music and art have on all life forms has become more and more prominent. Growing up homeschooled and having a musical, artistic, and literature-loving mother gave way to a strong love of reading, art and music of all sorts. My mother is a musician (guitarist and singer), and has always deeply encouraged my siblings and I to embrace our own art and individual creative drives.
So, what do I actually do?
I am a musician at heart; playing violin, bass, guitar, and voice. When I was about ten or eleven I discovered that I could write original music to process complex feelings and thoughts, and when I was thirteen I started to take my music more seriously, and began playing in bands and writing books upon books of original music. Aside from music however, I express myself through various art forms, including pen and colored pencil drawings, acrylic and watercolor painting, and collages. In addition to that, story writing is another lifelong passion of mine, as I have been writing short stories (and a wide variety of unfinished novels) and poetry long before I first experimented with writing music.
Over the years, I have taken on numerous creative endeavors in an attempt to articulate my passion into one solid project, but none have ever come to fruition—until Lydia’s Brain. This magazine is the amalgamation of my love for music, art, and writing; it’s a space where Creatives can come together and be seen for who they are.
To all of the incredibly hardworking and talented Creatives who have contributed—thank you. I never anticipated that Lydia’s Brain Magazine would provoke such love, excitement, and interest. I am ecstatic to see where this project will go next. If you’re interested in supporting Lydia’s Brain, submitting, or are simply curious about our cause, keep reading !! I’m very happy to have you here.
